You sound very grounded in the reality of your situation, which is a great place to be.

I can relate, in that I grew up in a very lower middle-class family, both parents working, both parents having been raised through the Depression and WW2. So there was a huge layer of frugality in my life, and that informs my spending to this day, even though I can technically afford to spend more money.

My greatest joy is to be able to give financial support to education programs that help students who are the first ones in their families to get a college education.
