This is outstanding!

I am a retired teacher. For a while, I was building a career as a professional speaker, as well. My main audiences were parents. This was back in the nineties.

At that time, I heard a fact that resonated with me and motivated me to steer my speeches in a certain direction. It was about a huge percentage of people at the time who were working at jobs that didn't even exist when they were in kindergarten!

So how do you motivate children to learn when they are more than likely going to work in jobs that don't currently exist: you encourage them to be curious and to follow up on their curiosity, being sure to let them know that learning continues way beyond their time in school.

You show this by demonstrating your own curiosity and your own interest in learning.

Parents are their children's first and most consistent teachers. They need to take ownership of that!
