These are terrific. Thanks for chiming in with these. Your writing calls to mind a couple of usages that rub me the wrong way:

Since you mentioned music, my first one is from that field: when a performer's rendition of a song is called a "cover." Somebody "covers" the Beatles "And I Love Her," instead of just singing or performing it.

I also do not understand anyone being "out of" instead of "from." It seems to me that if you are "out of" a place then you are just not there - you're not home, which is usually temporary, to some degree or other.
