The places where I do my grocery shopping tend to be the major supermarkets: Monoprix, Franprix, Carrefour, etc. The ones in which I have shopped the most are in Paris, Arras, and Marseille.

Yes, no problems in any of these. I try as much as possible to learn about French culture, so that I am a respectful visitor. I also watch a lot of videos on YouTube, posted by foreigners who have moved to France, and have been living there. I have never once seen this mentioned in any of their videos.
