Thanks for this. It is especially meaningful to me because I recently embarked upon the process known as Swedish Death Cleaning, through which people work on paring down their possessions as a means of making that job easier for those who survive them.

My greatest challenge is that rather than throw things out into landfill or recycling, I want to know that they are going to be used by people who appreciate them.

That makes the process quite time-consuming.
