Thanks for this. I have been to Paris twelve times - most recently in the summer of 2022 - and I ALWAYS have a transit card. First it was Carte Orange, and now Navigo. I travel quite a bit every day on the Metro. And I do not recall ever having seen this phenomenon.

I will certainly look for this on future visits.
