Your response with that information comes at an excellent time for me. Yesterday, I read a story in the New York Times about what they were referring to as "kinless" seniors: older people who have no family members to care for them.

In that article, they mentioned the "village movement." I did a bit of investigation and found a "village" right here in my home town of San Francisco. I am going today to take a walk with a friend and check it out.
