I'm sure you are right in your analysis. You are extremely aware and you have an excellent way of sharing your knowledge and experience with your readers.

In addition to the factors that you mention, I believe that there may be two other dynamics going on here:

1. The extrovert factor

Many extroverts have difficulty spending time by themselves. To their way of thinking, being with somebody who doesn't measure up is better than being alone. This may not apply to you, but in my observation, it applies to many people.

2. Buried deeply within many men, as well as women, is fear of intelligent, powerful, independent women. It has somehow been beaten into our patriarchal society that it is MEN, not WOMEN, who are supposed to be the smart, powerful, and independent ones. A woman filling that mold is intimidating to many men and, sadly, to women as well.
