I visited Marseille for the first time in 2018, which was my tenth visit to France. About time to get there.

Overall, I liked it and felt comfortable there. The only thing that really turned me off was the graffiti, which was horrid and almost everywhere.

We did have one unfortunate incident, however, on our last night. We were staying in Le Panier, with French doors from our apartment that opened up directly on the street. My partner was playing music on my laptop, which was on a table not too far from the entrance. He was in the loft, packing. Suddenly, the music stopped. He looked down to see that the laptop was GONE!

Frankly, though, I would not let that one incident dissuade me from making a return visit.
