I see that you have mentioned your former diplomat status in several comments. I served in the Peace Corps (2003-2005). Several of my former Peace Corps colleagues went on to the Foreign Service, doing their work in such countries as Chad, Brazil, Papua New Guinea, El Salvador, Yemen, Austria, Saudi Arabia, Benin, Haiti, Côte d'Ivoire, and Mexico. One of them was on Hillary Clinton's security detail when she was Secretary of State.

I visited some of them when they were working abroad. I have the utmost respect for people who do this work.
