I love France! I have been there eleven times, and every one of those times I have spent a minimum of a week in Paris. [Once a spent a month there.]

I have consistently seen French people, both in and outside of Paris, be kind, friendly, and polite. By the same token, it is incumbent upon all visitors to learn some of what is expected of them in any foreign country - not just France.

If you (1) expect rude behavior and (2) exhibit rude behavior, there is no surprise: you are going to get rude behavior. For example, people must learn the importance of saying "bonjour" when they enter a shop or begin a conversation with a stranger. Is it possible that people don't know this? Yes, it is.

Let's face it about the bread and wine in France: these are HUMAN RIGHTS and they are treated accordingly.

Vive la France!
