I can certainly understand your disappointment, Charlie. Since 2011, I have stayed in a total of 103 Airbnb rentals in 33 countries. I have stayed in a few places like this on occasion, too. But, overall, just a few under-par experiences does not mean that I would throw in the towel on the entire Airbnb process.

For many reasons, I much prefer it to hotels.
