I am with you on that. Where I live, in San Francisco, we have a wonderful enterprise called Community Thrift. When people make donations to it, they identify any one of the more than two hundred local nonprofits who will reap the benefits of the money when their items sell. A portion of the sale goes to the nonprofit and a portion goes towards the operations of the store itself, which includes rent and employees' salaries.
