Bravo to him!

As for the next paragraph, I question the sentence, "He 'ghosted' his employer."

First of all ghosting has to do with disappearing without communication with the other party. He clearly communicated with the other party. Not ghosting, as I understand the word.

Secondly, he didn't have an employer. What he had in this circumstance was a former employer. These people no longer had a relationship of any kind.
